Check out JOHOBO Handbags at Oakland, California's first Black-Eyed Pea Festival - A celebration of African and African American culture using a cherished foodway as its theme. The Festival will feature traditional musicians, artists and storytellers, art and craft vendors, health information, community resource information, and corporate sponsors. Classes will be offered in meditation, yoga and dance. A children's crafts area will feature t-shirt painting and rattle making with black-eyed peas. In addition to other foods, black-eyed pea themed dishes will be sold. All are welcome. Talks by African-American chefs and food activists will be featured in the Mosswood Recreation Center.
